In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Lawrence Hall Barnes and Bill Campbell; her oldest son, Steve Allen (Toby) Barnes; her only daughter, Sandra Elaine Barnes; her older brother, John Alvin Ward and her younger sister, Jeanna Ward Ritter. Mrs. Barnes was born in Bertie County on August 26, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Henry Leon and Mamie Ward Hawkins. passed away peacefully at Valys Adult Family Home on 12/26/2021 from Alzheimer's.
